IMPLEMENTASI YIELD MANAGEMENT DI HOTEL SKALA KECIL DAN MENENGAH DI SURABAYA: INVESTIGASI MENGENAI HAMBATAN DAN FAKTOR KEBERHASILAN

Abstract


The changing competitive market make every hotel increasing their respons to the environment. Yield management offers a concept to every hotel so that hotels could have a good position in the changing environment. This qualitative research reveals that there are obstacles faced by small hotels in Surabaya to implement yield management. On the other hand, yield management could be implemented in medium hotels as they have adequate and supportive resources.


Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia :

Kondisi persaingan yang terus berubah mengharuskan setiap hotel untuk meningkatkan responsnya terhadap lingkungan. Yield management menawarkan sebuah konsep agar setiap hotel mampu menempatkan dirinya pada posisi yang terbaik dalam kondisi yang terus berubah. Melalui penelitian kualitatif ini terungkap bahwa terdapat sejumlah kendala yang menyebabkan hotel skala kecil di Surabaya belum mengimplementasikan yield management, tetapi tidak demikian halnya dengan hotel skala menengah, dimana hotel ini mempunyai sumberdaya yang mendukung sehingga yield management bisa diimplementasikan.
